VAT — UAE Tax Updates
Value Added Tax has applied in the UAE since 1 January 2018 at a standard rate of 5%, administered by the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). The regime covers registration thresholds, zero-rated and exempt supplies, input-tax recovery, and sector-specific treatment (for example real estate, financial services, and exports). It continues to develop through FTA Public Clarifications and guidance. This hub tracks VAT developments as issued by the FTA (tax.gov.ae) and the Ministry of Finance (mof.gov.ae), and explains what each change means in practice for UAE businesses and their compliance obligations.
